Drone Strike Victims’ Families in Yemen File Suit Against US

The families of two Yemeni men filed a lawsuit against the United States for the murder of their family members by US drone strikes. The families claimed that the men were innocent bystanders who were killed for no reason. The lawsuit which does not require any monetary relief, says that the two men were wrongfully killed especially because they have both spent a good amount of their lives speaking out against terrorism and Al-Qaeda.

The lawsuit also claims that the killings violated the Torture Victim Prevention Acts ban on extrajudicial killings. The lawsuit names President Barack Obama, former Defense Secretary, Leon Panetta former CIA Director David Petraeus and three unknown defendants.
