South Africa: New Drone Laws Come Into Force

South Africa sets ten-year jail term for illegal drone flights. The South Africa Civil Aviation Authority, which enforced the rule starting today, July 1st, 2015, claims that, it has in fact, rushed out in order to meet a growing demand to regulate this sector.

In comparison, Japan is planning to introduce a one-year sentence for people who fly drones in residential areas and Singapore has already introduced a five-year penalty for carrying materials which deem dangerous.
