4th Annual PCL National Law Moot Court Competition 2017

Pakistan College of Law, a tradition-setter in conducting annual moot court competitions, once again organized a successful event. Saturday, the 21st of January 2017 successfully marked the conclusion of the 4th Annual National Pakistan College of Law Moot Court Competition. The two-day competition centered upon a proposition raising questions on principles of the Law of Contract and saw active participation from law schools across Pakistan, including teams from Islamabad and Karachi.

The judging panel comprised of a unique mix of esteemed lawyers and academics. These included Barrister Mujtaba Jamal (Senior Partner at Mujtaba Jamal Law Associates), Barrister Syed Ali Zafar (Senior Partner at Mandviwala and Zafar, President Pakistan Chapter of SAARC Law, and Former President Supreme Court Bar Association), Mr. Anwaar Hussein (Assistant Deputy Advocate General Punjab) Muhammed Mustafa Khan (Member Faculty, Pakistan College of Law, Trainee Solicitor at Baker & McKenzie) and Mr. Zeeshan Zafar Hashmi (Advocate High Court).

Barrister Ali Zafar appreciated Pakistan College of Law’s efforts in setting up the competition to ensure the practical training of law students. In his concluding comments, he encouraged law schools to continue with the tradition of holding moot court competitions and law students to continue to engage in such activities.

The winners of the competition were participants from the International Islamic University in Islamabad and we congratulate them on their victory. We also congratulate the runners-up of the competition, University College Lahore. We are thankful to Courting The Law for their support in making this event a success.
