Punjab Commission On The Status Of Women Updates
Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) is making efforts to ensure the implementation of women related laws and policies enacted to eliminate discrimination and encourage gender equality in the province.
During a three (3) day training session on humanity, altruism and citizenship, organised by the Ministry of Human Rights and the Centre for Policing and Security at Punjab University, the chairperson of the Commission spoke comprehensively on international treaties. The prominent features and rights protected by each treaty were highlighted, along with redress mechanisms and monitoring bodies for each Convention.
Academics were encouraged to conduct research on rights of deprived segments and also include these themes in the school curriculums, to aid social development and a culture of tolerance among the youth.
