Chief Justice Of Pakistan Acknowledges Mardan Lynching

Mashal Khan, a Journalism and Mass Communication student at the Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU) was killed by a mob of students near university premises on grounds of alleged blasphemy. Khan was shot in the head, chest and lynched on having allegedly posted blasphemous material on several social media forums that he operated. The incident has triggered widespread discontentment amongst students, politicians and civil society as a whole across Pakistan.

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Saqib Nisar, acknowledging the horrifying event, directed IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to present a report within 36 hours. Notice by the CJP was taken over a news article that described the event in detail.
