A contempt of court plea was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for addressing United Nations General Assembly in English.
According to the plea the Prime Minister had disrespected the Supreme Court Orders pertaining to the usage of Urdu Language within government departments. The plea also made reference to the fact that all other world leaders addressed the General Assembly in their national languages.
The Plea was filed by Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi. United Nations General Assembly session took place on 30th September 2015 in which the Prime Minister along with other significant matters voiced for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
