Ohio Legalizes Marijuana

Ohio Legalizes Marijuana

Ohio just became the 25th US state for making marijuana legal. Governor John Kasich signed the bill put forward to him and will ill come into effect within 90 days. The law will authorize physicians to prescribe marijuana derivatives to the seriously ill patients suffering from epilepsy, chronic pain and the side effects of cancer.

Despite all the opposition, the state lawmakers passed a plan to legalize marijuana for those with a doctor’s recommendation, while still prohibiting the smoking of marijuana or its home cultivation. The law requires that medical marijuana be made available within two years. Ohio Pharmacy Board and Ohio Medical Board will be responsible for overseeing it.
