On 29th May 2015, Rana Sanuallah of PML-N took oath as the Law Minster of Punjab after having his name cleared in the Model Town incident of 2014 which had resulted in the killing of a dozen supporters of Pakistan Awami Tehreek by the police.
Rana Sanaullah as the Law Minister at that time had justified the police action as being legal and was removed from office by Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab following pressure from civil society and the media.
Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana administered the oath to Rana Sanaullah. Some workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek protested against the reappointment of Sanaullah as the provincial law minister.
