Murderer of DLA Piper Associate in Washington DC Sentenced To 24 Years
The 30-year-old woman who stabbed Intellectual Property lawyer, David Messerschmitt, to death in a hotel bedroom, has been sentenced to 24 years in prison, after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
Jamyra Gallmon, 21, answered an online advertisement for sex. Posing as a man, in line with what the advertisement suggested, she met Mr. Messerschmitt at the Donovan Hotel in February. Prosecutors said that Ms. Gallmon went to meet the lawyer in order to rob him.
Ms. Gallmon made a calculated robbery, stabbed Mr. Messerschmitt seven times and left him there in the hotel room to die, according to Assistant US attorney Shana Fulton.
