The Federal Government has directed all provinces to take stern action against illegal collection of hides. No activist or member of any political, religious or welfare organization should be allowed to distribute any receipt to collect hides in advance. Furthermore no organisation should be allowed to establish camps on streets or public places for the collection of hides.
As per the National Action plan unauthorized collection of hides has been banned in order to prevent the money from reaching terror outfits. Action will also be taken against banned organizations collecting hides under different names. “A number of those who had earlier changed their names were consequently proscribed while measures are also being undertaken under the national action plan to prevent these outfits to operate under new names”, an official source said, adding instructions have also been issued to respective home departments of all the provinces with details of the banned outfits.
If any Welfare Organization wishes to collect hides it must make an application in this regard to the DCO who will then issue a no objection certificate. Special intelligence teams and various plans have been devised in different parts of the country to ensure that proscribed organizations do not collect hides.
