$10m Donation by Saudi Businessman for Islamic Law Center at Yale
A Saudi businessman, has donated $10 million to Yale Law School for the establishment of the Abdallah S Kamel Center for the Study of Islamic Law and Civilisation, owing to an increasing interest in Islamic Law, culture and history. The center is also intended to support research fellowships and tenured professorship in the field of Islamic law.
An Islamic legal studies programme is already in place at the Harvard Law School, which has been established with help from the Saudi King, but Yale aims to have the best programme of its kind in the Unites States.
