Saudi Arabia Introduces New Law, Fines Female Workers Who Don’t Cover Heads
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Labour has recently introduced a new law which fines a 1,000 Saudi Riyals for female workers who do not cover their head at workplaces. This new law summarizes that employers need to make sure that a dress code is put into place for female employees and those who do not respect the dress code can be fined SR5,000.
In addition, the Ministry Of Labour said that female workers who are caught without head cover would be fined SR1,000. The law also stops companies from hiring minors in hazardous places, like on conveyer belts within factories and construction sites. Anyone who violates these clauses are to be faced with a fine of SR10,000.
Furthermore, the law also fines companies, SR5,000 for forcing their female employees to work at night. Also, companies who do not make separate sections for their female employees will be fined SR10,000.
