Obama Formally Appeals Block on The Immigration Policy to Supreme Court
The US Department of Justice has formally appealed to the Supreme Court to topple over the court order that has blocked the president’s executive policy on immigration.
Resistance to immigration reform amongst Congress Republicans has hindered the execution of the decree and seen Texas, among 25 other states, start proceedings which aim to sue the federal government.
The Obama administration has taken fast steps to file the case so that it can be heard at the Supreme Court. If the case is heard soon, a high-stakes court battle could start as Washington enters its election year.
