Sindh Bar Council Issues Notices To Lawyers For Thrashing Reporters
The Sindh Bar Council on the 24th of August issued notices to two lawyers who had allegedly thrashed two reporters for filming them searching a woman at the city courts’ premises.
Two private television channel reporters along with other journalists had filed a written application to the Sindh Bar Council seeking legal action against the two lawyers allegedly involved in manhandling them.
They informed in the application that they were allegedly beaten up and locked up for around half an hour inside the city courts’ premises on the 22nd of August.
The reporters complained they were going to court when they saw two lawyers chasing a woman. They started recording the scene with their mobile phone when the lawyers caught the woman and began physically searching her.
The council was informed that the two lawyers were infuriated when they found out that they were being filmed. At first, they snatched the mobile phone and then, accompanied by other lawyers, started hitting the reporters.
