Federal Jobs Quota Issue Brought to the CCI
The federal cabinet recently decided to present the issue of the extension in jobs quota to the Council of Common Interests (CCI) and Parliament. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and its discourse included the existing provincial quota regime vis-a-vis the provincial shares in federal level jobs.
During the meeting, the cabinet approved various agreements and conventions Pakistan had made with other countries. It was also discussed how the quota system had been disregarded completely in public sector jobs. Furthermore, the meeting agreed to sign the visa abolition draft, an agreement made between Italy and Pakistan regarding diplomatic passport holders.
Lastly, the existing conventions with Sri Lanka, Nepal, France, Portugal, Tunisia and Morocco were agreed to be amended to avoid double taxation and fiscal evasion in connection with taxes on income for the article of exchange of information.
