On Tuesday, the UN Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights (OHCHR) renewed calls for girls and women to be given equal access to education. The panel discussed and concluded that issues pertaining to gender discrimination come in different forms, such as sexual violence, harassment and abductions, unemployment and unequal pay. Hence, the panel decided that equal education rights are an effective way to end this kind of discrimination against women in all societies around the globe.
By providing equal education, OHCHR asserted that women will be better suited to use their learned skills to make a breakthrough from the wall that separates them from achieving similar status to their male counterparts.
