Counter-Terror Social Media Bill To Be Revived by The Senate Intelligence Committee

Californian Senator Dianne Feinstein of the Senate Intelligence Committee is now pushing forward to renew a draft of legislation that would tighten scrutiny of social media platforms to alert law enforcement to online extremist activity.

Sen. Feinstein will push for a bill that specifically targets extremist groups and the dissemination of propaganda. The bill could come before the end of the week. Ms. Feinstein had already tried to introduce an amended legislation to the Senate’s recent Intelligence Authorisation Act, but was blocked because of vague language used in the amendment.
