Meet Our National Law Scholar: Nusrat Awan Of L’ecole Karachi

“My name is Nusrat Awan. I am a University Of London student at L’ecole. My motivation for studying law comes from the deteriorating law and order situation in our country. I believe it’s high time for young students like us to initiate change in the society by educating ourselves about the legal world which shapes our day to day life. This change could lead us to the betterment of our country and therefore having a degree or qualification in legal studies is the first and most important step in order to understand the technicalities and practicalities of the legal world.

I have done my matriculation from St. Joseph’s Convent High School and Intermediate from St. Joseph’s College for Women. I went to London afterwards and completed the International Foundation Programme in Humanities and Law from INTO City University of London.

It is well known that for a law student, moot court competitions are very important and I have also been a part of this enlightening experience. I won the Best Speaker Award and Winner of the Moot Award at Lecole’s intra Moot Court Competition as well as Best Litigation Team Award in Legal Eagle 2016 which took place at Lahore Grammar School. Along with this our team from L’ecole also won Awards for Best Memorandum, Best Mediator and Runner-up in Legal Eagle 2016.

I aspire to become a barrister which would provide me with numerous opportunities to make a contribution of my skills and expertise to our legal system and it would also lead me to fulfil my aim and purpose of studying law by bringing change into our society and legal system for our own betterment and for the betterment of our future generations”.
