Another Key Accused Arrested In Balochistan Corruption Scandal

Saleem Shah, the Administrator of Khaliqabad Kalat Municipal Committee and accused in the Balochistan corruption scandal case, has been arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The Accountability Court also handed over former Secretary Finance, Mushtaq Raisani, for another 14 days remand to NAB.

With the arrests and recovery of billions of rupees from Shah’s residence and Rs730 million from Raisani’s residence, the provincial Finance Adviser and elected Member of Balochistan Assembly from Kalat district, Khalid Langove, offered his resignation, but has still failed to appear before NAB since then.

NAB generally serves three notices to any accused before issuing a warrant for arrest and has already issued one to Langove, which has not been responded to yet.
