1) Communications Associate
The Research Society of International Law, Pakistan (RSIL) invites applications for the position of Communications Associate at its office in Islamabad.
The Communications Associate will assist the RSIL Coordination Department and the Executive Director in increasing visibility of RSIL among the general public, country offices of international NGOs, local NGOs, the Government of Pakistan and Provincial Governments and other development actors/ stakeholders in Pakistan by producing high-quality external communications, and further the public image of RSIL through positive media coverage and strategic branding.
The Communications Associate will be tasked with drafting and editing print and online materials such as website content, blogs, op-eds, press releases, social media posts, newsletters and other promotional materials.
The Communications Associate will also be involved in marketing and strategic planning, including but not limited to Google, Facebook and Twitter ads.
The position is based in Islamabad, and reports to the Executive Director, Directors (and Head of Department) and Coordinator.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain RSIL social media; develop strategies and track the impact of RSIL’s social media;
- Support both RSIL Offices (Lahore and Islamabad) with editing communication materials and improving the quality of their external promotions through consultations and training;
- Collecting updated content for the website, communicating with both offices regarding the organization’s web pages, and editing and drafting content;
- Organizing and prioritizing information gathered from RSIL staff for distribution;
- Participate in and contribute to regularly scheduled meetings related to strategy and awareness campaigns, as well as ongoing information-sharing between Communications and other internal departments (notably, the Conflict Law Centre, the International Law Training Centre and RSIL Law Review);
- Assist with RSIL events and promotions, including invitations, logistics, liaising with event management, live Tweeting, taking photos, and other communications;
- Maintain and update media files, organize press clippings and photo files, and organize and manage collateral and promotional material inventory;
- Maintain a list of journalists and media contacts;
- The Communications Associate may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities;
- Manage dissemination and distribution networks for RSIL’s original content, including all publications, at the Executive Director’s discretion.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, communications, mass media or other related disciplines;
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills;
- Minimum 1-year professional experience with an international NGO, local NGO, think-tank, development organization, international mission or other such organization;
- Experience in strategic outreach and creative marketing;
- Experience in writing for the web and social media;
- In-depth knowledge of social media usage and analytics; including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Tumblr, Instagram, Google +, Pinterest, etc;
- Experience in writing press releases and maintaining media contact lists;
- Ability to think out-of-the-box and take initiative;
- Able to work independently and effectively in a team environment;
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a proactive approach;
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn new technology quickly.
Non-Essential Qualifications:
- Video shooting and editing experience;
- Experience with photography;
- Experience with copywriting and editing;
- Google Ads experience;
- Experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite;
- Regional language fluency.

2) Junior Research Associate
The Research Society of International Law, Pakistan (RSIL) invites applications for the position of Junior Research Associate at its office in Islamabad.

Eligibility criteria:
- Hold an LL.B degree from a recognized University;
- Possess excellent written and spoken English language skills;
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint);
- Be able to undertake independent legal research;
- Must be able to work well in a team and multi-task.
The Junior Research Associate will work on a range of international and domestic legal issues pertaining to International Law.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on a range of international and domestic legal areas;
- Draft reports based on their research;
- Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions;
- Interact with clients and partners;
- Go to meetings, seminars, conferences and workshops (etc.) on behalf of RSIL and prepare notes on the same;
- Deliver presentations and lectures on matters of international law, etc;
- Assist in organizing workshops and conferences.
