Vacancy: Senior Contracts & Claims Specialist – Mott MacDonald
Job description
Acting as the Senior contracts and claims specialist on a major airport construction program, you would offer the client expert contractual advice related to submitted claims as well as implement measures to avoid claims on future works.
Key responsibilities/Duties:
- Produce quality claims analysis documentation
- Research and interrogate site-based records and data to establish facts
- Identification and calculations of additional costs with claimed events and delay costs for EOTs
- Liaise with Project team to understand events occurred and the affiliated costs of each event
- Play a vital role in the preparation of claims reports and providing advice thereupon
- Advise the client/project team on introductory interpretations and missing item disputes
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelors’ in Quantity Surveying/Engineering/Project Management
- Post Graduate in Construction Law or Arbitration
- Membership of an professional institute such as RICS, CIArb or CIOB
- Minimum 15 years’ post-graduate experience
- Experience in a similar role on an aviation project would be advantageous
- Must be capable of working independently and in a team in a challenging environment
- Hands-on experience in dealing with the commercial aspects of the construction process
- Experience in delivering projects on-site
- Solid understanding of commonly used contracts in the industry
