CourtingTheLaw Representing Pakistan At World Economic Forum Sustainable Development Impact Summit During UN Week, New York, 2017

We are delighted to announce that Courting The Law’s Vice President, Anoosha Shaigan has been invited as part of a select group of Global Shapers to attend the inaugural World Economic Forum Sustainable Development Impact Summit 2017, featuring prominent leaders from different governments, industries and international organizations.

Taking place at the time of the 72nd Regular Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 72) from 12-25 September 2017 in New York (with the theme, ‘Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet’), the Summit will draw on the presence of over 400 world leaders, experts and Millennials, from government, business, academia and civil society to increase the impact of existing multistakeholder initiatives, catalyse new partnerships and alliances, and explore how transformative technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution could be better leveraged to address development, environmental, and other social challenges, through deeper public-private cooperation.

Miss Shaigan will be representing the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community as well as Courting The Law, highlighting our commitment to accelerating progress on the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, especially Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #16, “Access To Justice” and the promotion of legal services in Pakistan through the use of technology-enabled platforms.
